The 24 HR. Plays

24 Hour Plays

“Feel Better” by Lina Patel, performed by Paul Fitzgerald.

When Mark Armstrong and the 24 Hour Plays team asked me to make a third 24 Hour Viral Monologue for their one-year anniversary round, I said yes immediately. Previous actors I was paired with were the wonderful Melia Kreilng and Mia Ellis. This time I was thrilled to be teamed up with my friend, the multi-talented Paul Fitzgerald, who took my frenzy of midnight-oil burning words and brought them to humorous, soulful and musical life.

The pieces are written, rehearsed and recorded in only 24 hours. They’ve been written about in the New York Times. The monologues are archived on Instagram @24hourplays. They bring creative communities together to benefit charities and nonprofits.  Monologues are free to view. Always. You can support their mission and donate at Thanks for watching!

Theater Artists Making Theatre With No Theater: Spring 2020

I’m in this new book of poems, monologues, and artwork featuring over 140 artists. It was just published and contains the work of artists grappling with what was, in the spring of 2020, a new pandemic and living under quarantine. The idea for the book was dreamed up and curated by Sheila Callaghan, Kelly Miller, and Meg Miroshnik. Art continues, even when the seats are empty!

Check out the book here: All proceeds go to a relief fund for theater artists:

I will team up with PROP THTR in Chicago to write for their “Small Hours” festival taking dropping December 30th on Instagram and Twitch.

I’m writing for season 2 of Cherish the Day, a new anthology series from Ava Duvernay. It drops in summer 2021!

In the spring I’ll be serving as dramaturg, assisting director, Jennifer Chang, and adapting Shakespeare’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at Pomona College. Stay tuned for more details.

The New Harmony Project

I was invited back to New Harmony Project in May. NHP’s mission is to create, nurture and promote new works for the stage, television, and film that sensitively and truthfully explore the positive aspects of life. When the pandemic caused the 2020 conference to be cancelled, NHP offered their 2020 writers and alumni a micro-commission to compose texts toward a “viral video” reflecting the spirit of New Harmony. In December, they launched the results. Check it out!

"At New Harmony Project we're all sharing a common goal; to create meaningful and enlightening work that will have a positive impact on the world!"
